Online Platforms

The two platforms we recommend are Senior Planet and Get Set Up. Both of these platforms are free to use (Get Set Up is free for Ventura County residents) and provide live and interactive sessions that cater to various fitness levels and interests.

 

Senior Planet

Senior Planet is a free and innovative platform dedicated to helping older adults stay active and engaged through technology. It has a variety of live virtual fitness classes, including yoga, strength training, and balance exercises, all designed to meet the needs of seniors.

Fitness classes offered include:

Get Setup

Get Set Up is an online platform focused on enhancing digital literacy among older adults through interactive classes. It offers a range of sessions covering technology basics, online safety, and social media use, designed to empower seniors to confidently navigate the digital world. With live instructors and step-by-step guidance, Get Set Up aims to foster connectivity and independence through accessible, tailored learning experiences.

YouTube fitness channels are highly beneficial for older adults as they offer accessible, free workouts tailored to different fitness levels. These channels provide a variety of exercise routines, from gentle stretching to strength training, designed specifically for seniors. They allow individuals to exercise at their own pace from the comfort of home, promoting physical activity and overall well-being in a convenient and user-friendly manner.
